How to Update Your Name, Date of Birth & Address in Aadhar Card

Understanding the Importance of Updating Information

  • The Aadhaar card is one of the most important identity documents in India.

  • If any of this information is incorrect or needs to be updated due to changes, you can easily do so through UIDAI’s services.
  • These updates can ensure that all documents, identification, and accounts reflect your current identity, which is important for legal reasons and personal consistency.
  • In this post, we will guide you step-by-step on how to update Name, DOB, and Address in your Aadhaar card both online and offline.

How to Update Address by Online

  • Visit https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in Website then click to Login.
  • Enter your Aadhar Number then Enter the OTP sent to your registered Mobile Number.
  • After login Click on Update Address Online & fill up the new address details.
  • Upload a Valid proof of address document in PDF, JPEG etc. ( For Address Documents Required – Electricity Bill, Bank Statement, Passport, Ration Card, Registered Rent Agreement & Water Bill)
  • Submit the details & make payment of Rs50/-.
  • You will receive a URN to track request.

How to Update Name, Date of Birth & Address by Offline.

  • To update Name, Date of Birth, and Address, you must visit a nearby Aadhaar Seva Kendra (ASK) or Authorized Aadhaar Enrollment Center.
  • Visit the nearest Aadhaar Seva Kendra. You can locate here: https://appointments.uidai.gov.in/easearch.aspx
  • Ask for the Aadhaar Update/Correction Form & Fill in the required fields (Name, DOB, Address, etc.).
  • Submit the form along with Supporting documents
  • For Name Required Documents – Government Issued Photo ID, Passport, Pan Card, Voter Id & Driving License.
  • For Date of Birth Change Required Documents – Birth Certificate, Passport, Pan Card, Leaving Certificate & SSC Results (10th Marksheet),
  • For Address Change Required Documents – Electricity Bill, Bank Statement, Passport, Ration Card, Registered Rent Agreement & Water Bill.
  • The operator will take your biometric verification & Rs 50/- charge for per update.
  • After that You will get an Acknowledgement Slip with a URN to track the update status.
  • Updates usually take up to 7–10 working days, but in some cases, it may take up to 90 days.

Notes-Mobile number must be linked to use online services. Biometric authentication is mandatory for in-person updates. You can update DOB only once, so enter carefully & Always carry original documents because photocopies are not accepted.
